Therapist Expectations & Onboarding Guide
Welcome to the Rest Therapist Network. We are glad you are here and excited to work with you.
Rest connects licensed massage therapists with confirmed mobile appointments, events, and corporate wellness bookings. Our goal is to create a flexible system that allows therapists to choose when they want to work while providing reliable service to our clients.
Please read the following information carefully. By accepting bookings through Rest, you agree to these expectations and policies.
Independent Contractor Status
Therapists working with Rest are independent contractors, not employees.
You are free to accept or decline any booking opportunity. There are no minimum hours or required shifts.
You control your schedule and availability. However, once you accept a booking, you are committing to that client and appointment time.
Reliability is the most important part of working with Rest.
How Booking Assignments Work
When a client schedules an appointment or an event is booked, a job will appear in the app. You may accept or decline the booking.
If you accept the booking, the appointment is assigned to you and the client is expecting you specifically.
These are confirmed appointments. They are not leads and you are not expected to contact or market to the client. Your responsibility is to arrive and perform the service professionally.
Please only accept bookings you are confident you can complete. If you are unsure about your availability, it is better to decline than to cancel later.
Repeated cancellations may result in fewer booking opportunities.
Clock-In Procedure
Therapists must clock in through the app when heading to the client’s location.
This allows Rest to provide accurate arrival updates to the client and notify them of delays if necessary.
Clock-in and clock-out times do not affect your payout. The feature is used for communication, safety, and confirmation of arrival and departure.
Arrival Expectations
Please plan to arrive approximately 5-10 minutes early to allow time for setup.
Therapists are expected to:
• arrive on time
• present themselves professionally
• maintain clean equipment and linens
• communicate promptly if delayed
Strong fragrances or scents should be avoided.
Professional behavior is required at all times. Avoid discussions of politics, religion, or controversial topics during sessions.
Therapists should not provide medical diagnoses. General wellness suggestions are acceptable, but medical concerns should be referred to a healthcare professional.
Mobile Massage Requirements
Therapists are responsible for providing their own equipment unless otherwise stated in the booking details.
This includes:
• massage table or chair
• lotion or cream
• sanitation supplies
Mobile environments vary. Some homes may have limited space and some corporate events may be fast-paced. Flexibility and professionalism are important.
For chair massage events, therapists may work with multiple individuals in a short period of time. Efficiency and organization are expected.
Communication Guidelines
All booking communication should occur inside the app unless instructed otherwise.
If you are running late, cannot locate the address, or encounter a problem, notify Rest immediately through the app.
Prompt communication allows us to keep the client informed and support you when needed.
Client Relationship Policy
Clients booked through Rest remain Rest clients.
Therapists may not solicit clients for private bookings outside the platform, provide personal business cards for rebooking, or attempt to redirect clients away from Rest.
If a client requests to book with you again, please instruct them to schedule through Rest. We will do our best to send the booking back to you if you are available.
Cancellation Policy
Emergencies happen and we understand unforeseen situations may occur. If you must cancel, notify Rest immediately.
However, last-minute cancellations significantly impact clients and businesses. Repeated cancellations or no-shows may result in reduced or paused booking opportunities.
Payment
Payment details for each booking will be provided in the assignment. Payout is not affected by clock-in times. Therapists are responsible for their own taxes as independent contractors.
Professional Conduct
Therapists agree to:
• treat clients respectfully
• maintain appropriate boundaries
• provide safe and professional services
• follow local laws and licensing requirements
Any unsafe or inappropriate client behavior should be reported immediately.
