Types of Therapy

Pain Relief

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage therapy is the modality that comes to mind when most people think about massage. As the best-known type of bodywork performed today, one of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. But Swedish massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.

Reflexology massage can be a deeply relaxing and therapeutic modality for those suffering from plantar fasciitis, ankle injuries or even everyday work and play. Your massage therapist will apply traditional Swedish and sports massage techniques to the foot, calf and upper leg. This will not only help relieve toe pain, ankle pain, plantar fasciitis and common forms of arthritis, but can also decrease stress and anxiety in the entire body. In addition, a variety of stretches can be beneficial. With pain and sensitivity in the foot, heel and calf areas, be sure to communicate your pain levels with your massage therapist during your treatment. It is also a good idea to rest after receiving the reflexology massage.

Migraine Relief

Massage is a great way to manage stress and relieve tension- two of the main causes of migraine headaches. Your massage therapist will  integrate a variety of techniques into their work. Depending on the severity of your migraines or tension headaches, your therapist may utilize a Swedish massage, Deep Tissue ,Trigger Point therapy or other methods that address your specific requests and needs

Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic drainage is a gentle, rhythmical massage treatment performed by a specially trained massage therapist. Our lymph fluid is transported through the lymphatic vessels via our skeletal muscle movements contracting and deep correct breathing, unlike our blood which is pumped around the circulatory system via our heart.

A lymphatic drainage massage helps to stimulate the circulation of lymph fluid around the body, reducing swelling and fluid retention through the limbs. This massage helps to rapidly speed up the removal of wastes and toxin, aids in the prevention of swelling after injury or surgery, is often used for people going through chemo as it can help them build their immune system and is also thought to provide a major boost to your immune system.

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints).

Prenatal Massage

Massage therapy during pregnancy is a wonderful complementary choice for prenatal care. It is a healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall wellness. Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and edema (or swelling).

In addition, massage for pregnant women reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation, helps to relax nervous tension -- which aids in better sleep -- and can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes.

Cupping is a suction technique using plastic “cups” on the skin to pull toxin build-up and muscle spasm out of the deeper tissue of the body, towards the surface of the body.  When we feel “pain,” tenderness, or discomfort, there is some physiologic blockage in the flow of energy. The more blockage, the harder it is for the body to remove the obstruction and discomfort.

Cupping could be used all over the body to invigorate blood flow and to relieve tension and pain.  It also brings fresh new blood into that blocked area.  Changes in stiffness, pain and mobility can often be seen immediately.  It is often use for treating muscle, menstrual, or joint pain.  Helps relieve acute illnesses such as common cold, headaches, boost immunity, and energy.  The procedure usually last about 5 - 15 minutes per area depending on the technique used.

In case of pregnancy, bleeding disorder, diabetic neuropathy, or open wounds, cupping cannot be used.  Because the suction draw fresh blood to the external capillaries, it may be result in bruise or red patch on the skin.  It is a normal response, and it will fade within few days.  Same as Gua Sha, It is recommended that patients should avoid from exercise on the day of treatment.
